Electrocoagulation with EColoRO

Theme
Wastewater Treatment, Innovation / new techniques

Summary
Together with EColoR exploratory research was done at AWZI Harnaschpolder. The purpose was to investigate whether electrocoagulation is possible with domestic wastewater. Due to electrocoagulation no dosing of coagulants is needed since the desired ions are delivered by the electrodes when an electrical current is applied (either an iron electrode or an aluminum electrode can be applied as cathode or anode). The tests were done with 10 Volts and 0,5 Ampère. During the first test the iron electrode was applied as anode and during the second test the aluminum electrode.
